Activitiy in the Historical Place

(Gunongan Putroe Phang)

December 6, 2016 we are students of English department of UIN Ar-raniry went to Gunongan Putroe Phang in Banda Aceh.  That was the first outdoor class we have in this 7^th semester. Our activities were looking for the story, architecture, cleanliness of the area, and activities of the visitors. As a student of English department, I like to guide the tourist out of the class activities and it makes me interesting to explore the activities of visitor when they visited Gunongan Putroe Phang.

Visitor in Gunongan Putroe phang divided two categories, the first was local visitor and the second was tourism. Each visitor had a different aim and activity when they came to historical place. There were many things that we could see the similarities and differences   between local visitor and tourism.

The local visitor and tourism had the same purpose when they visited the place. Local visitors came to the place  for fun only, like a picnic and take many pictures for their documentation during visiting the place. While the tourism, they did not do the same thing. The activity of tourism looks like they want to know more about the story of the object.  They asked more about the story to the guide which was related to the place, such as architecture, building, and environment. During the guides’ explanation about historical place, the tourist took a note or wrote a short explanation on their notebook. Sometime the tourism looks like a local visitor activity that they added some collection for the documentation but not a lot.  

The activities between local visitor and tourism were coming from the same aims. We can conclude that the aim both of them was for their documentations’ evidence of memorizing that they have been there.
